Trailer Hire
Important Information
Customers collecting a hire trailer should ensure they have a 7 pin UK socket and a 50mm ball. Customers with a 13 pin European socket will need to provide an adapter to fit their hire trailer (often a 7 pin adapter is supplied on European vehicles), Southern Trailers stock adapters in the trailer parts department.
We do offer customers advice on the type of hire trailer to suit their needs, however more information can be found from the National Towing and Trailer Association.

When you collect a hire trailer we will assist you to hitch up your chosen trailer. All our hire trailers are fully serviced and supplied with locking hitches and wheel clamps are available on request, please ask when you book your trailer hire.

Car Transporter Trailers
All our car transporter trailers for hire are supplied with a spare wheel and winch to aid the loading of vehicles. We also have flatbed trailers for hire that can and often are used to transport a variety of vehicles.
Flatbed Trailers
Flatbed trailers are perfect for moving a large range of loads up to approximately 2.8 tonnes, from palliated goods, machinery, cars.
Van Trailers
Hire a van trailer to provided a dry and secure space to transport all types off items. The rear-loading ramp makes it easy to load heavy items such as furniture.
Often van trailers are hired to be used as a temporary store during building works, for car booting, carting and as a larger camping trailer by organisations like the scouts, cadets, universities or expeditions.
Horsebox Trailers
People hire our horsebox trailers to move horses for any number of reasons, just moving stable or yard, to go to shows or gymkhanas, hunting, dressage, showjumping, to stud, racing, endurance rides, pony club camps and events, to cover for a breakdown, or simply for a day out.
Goods Trailers
Goods trailers are ideal for moving garden waste, or moving items of plant such as Diggers, Mini Tractors, Garden Tractors, Farm Implements etc. They provide a carrying capacity of up to 2 tons. 7' x 4' trailers come with mesh side kits to add to their carrying capacity. Goods trailers are fitted with a loading ramp to enable machines to be driven in easily.
Plant Trailers
As with Goods Trailers, Plant trailers are fitted with a loading ramp to enable machines to be driven in easily. They provide a carrying capacity of up to 2 tons. 7' x 4' trailers come with mesh side kits to add to their carrying capacity. This all makes them ideal for moving garden waste, or moving items of plant such as Diggers, Mini Tractors, Garden Tractors, Farm Implements etc.
Motorbike Trailers
Southern Trailers offer a range of motorbike trailers for hire. All our motorbike trailers are rented out with a spare wheel and loading ramp.
Our motorbike trailers for hire are suitable for carrying almost all types of motorbikes including, trail bikes, track bikes, sports bikes, custom, classic and vintage motorbikes.
Camping Trailers
Southern Trailers offers 2 sizes of camping trailers for hire, towable by any size of car with a tow bar. Both sizes come with a soft cover and spare wheel.
